This weekend while Dean was sanding the baby’s bedroom floor I made a start on every girl’s favorite cupboard – their wardrobe! The baby’s nursery is our tiny back bedroom, there’s no room for a wardrobe in that room so the big full height cupboard in Frankie’s bedroom will be finally getting some use.
It was quite enjoyable to get all the boxes full of Frankie’s clothes out which I’d cleaned and sorted when I first found out I was pregnant again… This baby’s newborn to 3 month wardrobe is probably made up of 50% brand new and 50% hand me downs which means she has a lovely mix of gorgeous memory-full items and delicious soft new bits.
I’m a firm believer in newborns being wrapped up in onesies or soft leggings with feet, so this little girl’s wardrobe is almost exclusively sleepsuits and baggy trousers at the moment – I know once she’s here the temptation for a few little outfits will appear and that’s fine but I really want to properly embrace the teeny, tiny stage!
When sorting all this stuff out the bit that really pulled at my heartstring was when I got to the box marked ‘tiny/early/prem baby clothes’ – this is from when Frankie just shrunk in the first few weeks and all the newborn things would swamp her. I’ve washed and hung it up but after my most recent consultant appointment I can’t imagine this baby will be wearing any of it!
Now if I’m ever having a day when I’m scared or unsure of what this new baby will bring I just open the doors to her new wardrobe and the excitement sets in again!

Aww how exciting! I can’t wait to sort out BabyShilts’ wardrobe, wash all his clothes and see everything hanging up in the Nursery. Loving the little booties x
It’s so exciting… although the excitement of cleaning teeny tiny clothes starts to wear thin after they’re covered in poo ;) xx
I’m also a firm believer in comfy onesies and sleepsuits for babes….the little outfits are so cute but just ride up and aren’t nearly as snuggly. Hope you are keeping well in the run up to the little lady’s arrival!
Thanks :) It’s so hard to resist the tiny ‘proper’ clothes but onesies are the one! x
Yay lovely, how exciting getting her wardrobe sorted and I am with you on the onesies- this one is staying in them until she leaves home! ;)
Oh yes! If I could I’d be keeping both girls in them forever! x
With you on the comfy thing. I cringe at some of the outfits I put my first born in – so OTT!
I know right! I made myself wait until Frankie was 7 months old before I put her in jeans but know I wish I’d waited longer… it seems to strip them of there ‘newness’ somehow! x
So adorable :-) xx
