So after having a few problems with my blog recently all my draft posts disappeared into thin air aswell as alot of random pages, luckily nothing important has dissapered but it did mean a new look (slightly frustrating considering I’d only redone it all only a month ago). Anyway on with the show…
Obviously last Tuesday was Valentine’s Day, once we’d bundled Francesca into bed I dished up a 3 course meal (courtesy of Tesco Finest’s Meal Deal!) and we swapped presents. I felt a little bad about my gift to Dean, a pair of Superman pants, when he gave me a beautiful bracelet. Oops! We ended the evening with a soppy movie and a glass of vino – perfect.
We’ve been attempting to get Francesca to start eating with a fork or spoon recently. As we’ve been doing baby led weaning 90% of the time she’s pretty handy (pun intended) with her motor skills and she’s had a spoon on her highchair since we started weaning so we thought just by loading it up she might get the jist of it. We were wrong. It doesn’t help that she’s figured out how to take her bib off aswell so. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner ends in sheer carnage, particularly if yoghurts involved, in the left picture above she is demonstrating her new skill of squeezing the pot until the yoghurt ooozes out, enabling her to stick her face into it. It partly disgusts me and partly astonishes me that she’s figured out a new way to get to her food!
Since we moved into our new house I’ve spent approximately 99% of my time looking for furniture, I stumbled across this wooden chest on Preloved for £70, after 1 email I’d somehow managed to get the lady down to £45 and the next day it was ours! It’s beautiful and clearly is Francesca new favourite place to sit.
Food! I had a little wobble after Christmas about my weight and got a bit funny about what I was eating. Then I realised I really really really love food so made a mini resolution to just think a bit more about exactly what I was eating. My new favourite lunch is homemade tatziki (0% yoghurt), tomatoes, watercress and half an avacado in a wrap – delicious! When I was pregnant I was avacado obsessed and even though I know there not great for you but there are fab for your cholosteral and are full of vitamins, my favourite breakfast is avacado on toast. Such a yummy way to start the day. Francesca is getting in on the avacado action too, she’s a big chilli fan (obviously with with very little actual chilli in it) and she loves it topped off with the green stuff! And lastly some naughty food – I made a gorgeous (I’m just so modest!) cake the other week. An easier Victoria Sponge with whipped double cream and raspberry jam between.
The new blog looks nice hun but how frustrating. I am the same, my blog has been playing up loads recently. I love that toy box, it is gorgeous and what a bargain. x
